There are two routes onto the mainland from the island, and the right one depends on which animals you want and how much time and budget you have. To reach the northern parks, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, you fly, about one hour forty minutes to the Serengeti, because driving would waste most of two days each way. To reach the southern parks, Mikumi and Nyerere, you take a short flight or a road transfer from Dar es Salaam. The south is closer, cheaper and quicker, which is why it works even for a day trip, and it is what we are best known for. Everything below is sorted so you can find the trip that fits.
