Located just a short distance from Moshi town, Materuni Waterfalls and village is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible refreshing area in the Kilimanjaro region. This day trip offers an exciting opportunity to explore the lush green landscapes of the Chagga village, learn about the local culture, and enjoy a refreshing trek to the waterfall not only that but also learning everything about coffee plantations, how to prepare along with tasting various types of coffee .
Your adventure begins with a guided walk through coffee farms and banana plantations. Along the way, you will be immersed in the daily life of the Chagga people. The hike to the falls is about 45 minutes and takes you through a scenic route filled with stunning views of Kilimanjaro and rich vegetation.
At the waterfall, you can relax and take in the sight of the 90-meter high falls cascading into a natural pool. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a dip in the cool waters or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The Materuni Waterfalls Day Trip is perfect for nature lovers, hikers, and those looking to experience the beauty of Tanzania’s countryside.
08:00 AM: We will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi. After a short drive, you will arrive at Materuni village where you will meet your local guide.
Hike: The walk to the waterfall takes about 45 minutes, with plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and learn about local coffee-making processes.
The Falls: Upon reaching the waterfall, you will have time to relax, take photos, and swim in the cool waters (if desired).
Lunch: After enjoying the waterfall, we will return to the village for a traditional Chagga lunch.
Evening: We will conclude the day by driving back to Moshi, arriving in the late afternoon.
