Skip the long highway drive entirely. Travel in VIP class aboard Tanzania's sleek SGR electric train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro smooth, air-conditioned and refined where your private 4x4 and guide are waiting to whisk you the final stretch to the park. A relaxed, scenic start that leaves you fresh for your first game drive.
Direct scenic flight
Trade the turquoise Indian Ocean for the golden savannah in under an hour. A direct light-aircraft flight carries you from Zanzibar straight to the Mikumi airstrip, where you are met and transferred to your lodge. It is the fastest, most effortless way to add a luxury safari to an island holiday or honeymoon.

Day 1: Arrival, first game drive & bonfire under the stars
- Morning: Depart in VIP class on the SGR train from Dar es Salaam, or take your direct flight from Zanzibar to the Mikumi airstrip.
- Midday: VIP welcome and transfer to Wellworth Wildlife Mikumi Lodge; check in to your elegant room with sweeping savannah views, followed by a gourmet lunch.
- Afternoon: Your first private game drive across the Mkata Floodplain in a dedicated 4x4 elephants, giraffes, zebra, buffalo and, with luck, lion.
- Evening: Golden-hour sundowners, then a private bonfire under the stars and a candle-lit gourmet dinner.
Day 2: A full day in the wild
- Sunrise: An early private game drive when predators are most active and the light is glorious.
- Late morning: Return for a relaxed breakfast, then time by the pool or on your veranda.
- Afternoon: A second private game drive exploring the deeper, quieter corners of the park.
- Evening: Bush sundowners, a second night's bonfire and a gourmet dinner under the stars at Wellworth.
Day 3: Maasai cultural experience & refined departure
- Sunrise: An optional early game drive to capture your final wildlife moments, then breakfast at the lodge.
- Morning: A guided Maasai cultural experience a warm welcome to a Maasai community, traditional dancing, and an insight into their pastoral way of life.
- Afternoon: Refined departure transfer to the Mikumi airstrip for a scenic flight back to Zanzibar, or drive to Morogoro for the SGR train to Dar es Salaam, arriving relaxed and unhurried.

Your home for two nights is Wellworth Wildlife Mikumi Lodge, a refined retreat on the edge of the park where luxury and the wild sit side by side.
