A 6-day, 5-night itinerary offers an exceptional experience exploring Tanzania's stunning national parks and attractions. You'll enjoy a short hike at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and visit Mererani, the renowned mining center for Tanzanite, the rare and valuable gemstone found only in Tanzania.
Upon your arrival, you will find our company representative at the airport waiting for you with the special board with your name written on it. He will drive you directly to your Arusha accommodation to relax and prepare for your next day's safari. He will explain different things about our beautiful country and peaceful people on the way.
At 7.00 am, you'll have breakfast at the hotel, and from 8 to 8.30 am you'll be picked up and start a game drive en route heading to Tarangire gate. You'll arrive at 10.00 am and spend 10 min for registration. Afterward, you'll start the game drive inside the park. Tarangire has sparse vegetation strewn with baobab trees and acacia trees. Animals expected to spot are zebras, cheetahs, giraffes, lions, Grant's gazelles, and many elephants. Apart from a game drive, you can also choose a hot air balloon safari (it's $ 600 per person).
The park has a variety of diverse habitats, underground water forest, woodlands, and the western shore of the alkaline lake which provide a feeding area for thousands of flamingos. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and its canopy walking. Common wildlife includes wildebeests, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, baboons, and waterbucks. Lunch will be served inside the park at around 2:00 pm.
The park has volcanic soil that supports many habitats making it potential for Big Five spotting in a single day visit. Inside the park, there is Lake Magadi which provides a home for many birds. Apart from that, the park is well known for the existence of many Maasai families living in their circular-oriented bomas. It's best for anyone wishing to explore the history of human evolution. After the game drive, head to your accommodation for relaxation.
After breakfast, you'll take a one-hour drive to the Tanzanite mines in Merelani. You'll enjoy the scenic journey to this renowned mining area, where you'll be captivated by the beauty of Tanzanite, a rare gemstone found only in this region. You'll explore the mines, observe the extraction process, and interact with local miners who will share insights into the formation and significance of Tanzanite. Afterward, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Moshi.
First, you will visit the waterfalls which will be a 50-minute walk away. Your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim. Afterward, return to Materuni village for a traditional Chagga lunch. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the airport or hotel.
