Then you will visit and admire German-era colonial architecture like St. Joseph’s Cathedral and then you will learn Tanzania’s past at the National Museum and House of Culture. Lastly enjoyment to soothe the busy day by having fresh seafood at the beautiful coast of Dar es Salaam in one of its beaches such as Coco Beach or Kipepeo beach.
The journey then moves to the remote wilderness of Selous National Park (Nyerere National Park), Africa’s largest game reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its incredible biodiversity and far fewer crowds than its northern counterparts, Selous offers an intimate and pristine safari experience. Here, you'll encounter huge herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and a significant population of the endangered African wild dog.

Tour ITINERARY
Day 1 - Dar es Salaam City Tour
Our professional guide will welcome you at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) or your hotel, beginning your city orientation. We'll immediately feel the pulse of Dar es Salaam, 'the Haven of Peace', as we drive toward the central business district. A quick refreshment is planned before our deep dive into the city's history and markets.
The Dar es Salaam City Tour officially begins at the National Museum and House of Culture, exploring Tanzania's history, including the Olduvai Gorge fossil finds. We then proceed to the city center's colonial architecture, visiting the historic Askari Monument, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and the vibrant Kivukoni Fish Market for a true taste of local coastal life.
Following a delicious local lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to culture and commerce, starting at the bustling Kariakoo Market—the city's largest bazaar. Our final stop is the Mwenge Woodcarvers Market, where you can watch artisans create traditional crafts before we return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay in Dar es Salaam, preparing for the next day's journey to Selous.
Day 2 - Selous(Nyerere) National Park
Your day begins early with breakfast at your accommodation before departing Dar es Salaam at around 5:30 AM for the scenic drive to Selous(Nyerere) National Park. The journey takes approximately five to six hours, offering views of rural Tanzanian landscapes, local villages, and stretches of untouched wilderness along the way.
Upon arrival at the park, registration is completed at the gate, followed by a mid-morning game drive. You’ll have the chance to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, buffaloes, and numerous bird species thriving in their natural habitat. The open plains and miombo woodlands of Nyerere make it one of the best destinations for wildlife viewing in Southern Tanzania.
Around midday, enjoy lunch inside the park while admiring the serene Rufiji River. Continue with a game drive or optional boat safari to spot hippos and crocodiles. After an exciting day exploring Tanzania’s largest protected area, return to Dar es Salaam in the afternoon, arriving by evening to conclude your memorable two-day adventure.
